Burp Cloth

My sister called this week and wanted a baby gift for a friend. I appliqued a simple "m" to turn a plain burp cloth into something cute and personal!!

New Designs & New Fabric

This past week I have been working on a few orders. I enjoyed working with some new fabric that I just got in!

These two shirts were done for a friend. She ordered them for twin girls. I like the look of the lowercase letter all by itself. Very cute for a little girl!
A shirt using some of the fun new fabrics I just got in!!
Does your child have a 2 name first name? No problem!! I love how this turned out and I don't feel like the letters had to be squeezed on the shirt! So cute!!

Birthday Shirts

I LOVE birthdays! I always have fun planning my boys special day. What better way to let everyone know it's their birthday than with a special birthday shirt. One option is to use fabric that matches the theme of the party. For example my youngest son will soon be one, we are celebrating with a circus themed birthday. I created his shirt using circus fabric for one circle, and then a coordinating fabric for the other circle and his "J". On the back I added a star with the 1.

My Inspirations!

These two little boys are full of so much adventure! I love to watch them take in the many wonders of life!! God has blessed us in so many ways....

Rocket Ships? Of Course!

As the name says, of course I do rocket ships! One example of the rocket ships available is this more complex, layered appliqué. I combined four pattern fabrics and used a thicker stitch. The darker thread provides contrast and the satin stitch covers the edges of the fabric to prevent fraying. I can do other designs as well; I am always looking for a challenge!

What's in a Name?

With so many creative ways to display a name, one of my favorite projects is this chair cover for my son's first birthday. Of course, the cupcake and his name are appliquéd in the traditional manner, but the candle and flame are tacked on with temporary spray adhesive so that I can add candles for future years. What better way to honor the birthday boy!

Custom pillowcases make great presents. Since it is used daily (or nightly), it makes a great gift or fun addition to any bedroom.

Wear Your Initials

All kinds of fun things can be done with your child's initials. Whether they are displayed in a circle or simply placed on the shirt, your child's initials will give any piece of clothing a special touch.

When ordering have the shirt color, size, applique fabric pattern, and desired theme in mind.

Each applique is applied using heat and bond backing and then the border is sewn allowing the edges to slightly frey. This gives the design a softer feel with softer lines.

I can also mix solids and patterns using high contrast to make the pattern pop!

Rocket Ships and Elephants

Rocket Ships and Elephants celebrates the love we have for our children. Very little is more rewarding than the smile that spreads across your child's face as they pull on their favorite shirt. I take pride in designing and sewing custom appliqués for any occasion.

Please contact me if you see something you would like to order or if you have your own custom design in mind.

Appliquéd shirts and pillowcases start at $14 (plus shipping), Chair covers start at $20 (plus shipping). The typical turnaround is 7-10 days.

These make a great gift!
